Our Instruments

 Hill Street Baptist Church, Swadlincote.

The organ situated at Hill Street Baptist Church is the Trust's first project. The previous organ was built by John Compton in 1908 and was later enlarged in 1936 and electrified (by Noterman Bros) 1952. Some of this organ has been retained in the new instrument such as a magnificent Tromba (16' - 4'), Dulciana (8' - 4'), Clarinet (8'), Fifteenth (2') & Open Diapason (8'). The majority of the new instrument has however been transplanted from the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Newhall, which closed in September 2004. This instrument, built in the early 1900's by Lloyd Of Nottingham, was considered to have good tonal qualities and would be further enhanced by the addition of the ranks from the Hill Street Compton.
